Listen. I am going to try my BEST to get through this blog without bursting with excitement every other word as I type this! But I need y’all to feel my enthusiasm when it comes to the AMAZING experience I had at this hotel!
From the time I received word that Hilton’s boutique luxury brand, LXR was opening a new hotel in July 2021 on the majestic island of Mahe, Seychelles – I knew I had to book my stay here! I was visiting the Seychelles for Yacht Week East Africa, so this was the PERFECT opportunity to test out this new property for future holidays!
I will say, I made one HUGE mistake with this hotel – I didn’t stay long enough!
It’s time to head deep in the South of Mahe island to LXR’s first Indian Ocean outpost! Let's gooooooo!
GETTING TO MANGO HOUSE SEYCHELLES
Mango House Seychelles is about a 30–40 minute car ride from Seychelles International Airport (airport code: SEZ) and about 60 minutes to Victoria (the capital of Seychelles). We took a taxi from the airport (which cost 1000 Seychellois rupees/around $80 USD). During the time of my stay, the hotel did not offer transportation services.

If you’re feeling adventurous and confident in your driving skills, then renting a car is an option. I personally couldn’t do it since the country of Seychelles drives on the left side of the road. Also the roads leading to Mango House are winding, so be cognizant.
ARRIVING AT MANGO HOUSE SEYCHELLES
Pulling up to Mango House, my 1st thought was, “Oh! This hotel does NOT play about security! If you don’t belong here….YOU’RE NOT GETTING IN! PERIOD”! There is a 20-foot wall along with fencing and around the clock security. Once the guard verified my reservation, we were motioned to enter the hotel. From there – WORLD CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE BEGAN!
I’m a Diamond member with the Hilton Honors program and Mango House takes this status extremely serious! From the first greeting - “Hello! Welcome to Mango House, Ms. Williams. Thank you for being a Diamond member with us”, I knew my friend, Alena & I were in for a VERY special stay!
The amazing aura of this place hits you as soon as you step foot into the lobby! Our personal concierge during this stay was Francesca. She was literally one of the most pleasant human beings I have ever met! Once we checked in, the general manager, Sasha Tyas came over and greeted us with a very warm welcome! Our luggage was taken to our room while Francesca proceeded to give us a tour of this INCREDIBLE property!
Once our tour was over, Francesca had lunch, dinner and breakfast reservations already booked for us! For being a Diamond member, she also offered complimentary yoga and a painting class to partake in! I loved the fact that we didn’t have to think about ANYTHING at this place! The staff members did it for us (LOL)!

If you’re wondering how exclusive this hotel is – the property only has 41 rooms and ALL of them are sea view-facing rooms! Amazing, right?! You’ll enjoy a mix of villas and suites at Mango House! Let’s explore!
Mango House Restaurants: Muse (Mediterranean cuisine) | Kokoye (cocktails) | Azido (Japanese cuisine) | Soley (pool bar with cocktails & light bites) | Moutya (BBQ & grill)
We didn’t get to check out all the restaurants but we did enjoy, Muse. For dinner that evening, Alena & I decided to try the lamb chops with green beans, mash potatoes & a couple of glasses of red wine. I think that food sat on the table for 2 seconds before we swallowed EVERYTHING! The plates included (LOL)! Dinner was EXCELLENT!
Let me tell y’all something else. The absolute BEST breakfast I have EVER had was at this hotel right here! Breakfast is served at Muse restaurant as well. We enjoyed all the delectable foods we could stomach; fresh fruits, goat cheese, smoked salmon, Mediterranean scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, avocado tartine, pastries, champagne + MUCH more! The smiling staff serves all of this to you fresh! There is no need for you to leave the table AT ALL!

I can’t continue with this blog without talking specifically about the yogurt that was served to us during breakfast! The server mentioned that it was handmade fresh (I didn’t really know what that would taste like being from America and all where food is mostly processed), so I decided to give it a try! OMG! Savoring that 1st spoonful was HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH! I honestly could’ve had 16 more cups of that yogurt! Do yourself a favor when you visit Mango House – TRY THE YOGURT AT BREAKFAST!
Another highlight is that this UNBELIEVABLE breakfast was complimentary for myself & my guest for being a Diamond member! (Heeeeeeeeey)!
☀️ The Pools & Beach: Mango House has 3 pools to enjoy (1.) an infinity pool overlooking the ocean & granitic hillside (2.) an eye shaped main pool located at the Soley bar (3.) an elevated wooden deck pool!
The infinity pool located at the main lobby is the stuff dreams are made of! The views here are simply stunning! This pool is also a great place to enjoy the Seychelles sunsets!

☀️ FUN FACT: Did you know that Mango House was once the actual home to famed Italian photographer, Gian Paolo Barbieri? Decades later the property is still inspired by its former owner! Pretty cool, huh?!
MANGO HOUSE SEYCHELLES VILLAS & SUITES
You can’t go wrong with either of the 41 rooms at this property! When I originally booked my room through the Hilton app, I chose the ‘King Deluxe Room’. However, for being a Diamond member (don’t forget, this hotel treats Diamond members like royalty), I received a complimentary upgrade to the ‘Bay House One Bedroom Pool Suite’! Just like that, I went from 463 sq. ft. to 1,141 sq. ft! I couldn’t WAIT to see the inside of this suite!
When we arrived at our suite (#7) with Francesca and she opened the door, I quickly looked around and gasped! I don’t think I took another breath for at least 10 minutes! I was IN LOVE!
Stepping through the door, you’ll be taken aback by this SPACIOUS 1-bedroom suite that comfortably sleeps 4! I zeroed in on the dining room, living room and then my eyes went straight to the private pool! I was TOO ready to strip down and jump in! But before we do, let’s get to the specifics of this suite!

By now if you’re not impressed by all of this, I know one thing that will grab your attention for sure - THE BEDROOM! The bedrooms in this hotel are simply FLAWLESS! The décor, the views from the room and the bed itself…….WHEW! THAT BED! It’s EXQUISITE! Take a look!
While at dinner, housekeeping stopped by the room for the evening turndown service. They loosened the drapes around the bed and adjusted the lighting to make the room even more relaxing!
Another thing I LOVED about this suite were the bathrooms! YES! BATHROOMS! This suite comes equipped with 1 full bathroom and a half bath! There was more than enough space for Alena & I to handle our business in PRIVACY & in PEACE (LOL)! You’ll also find 2 beautiful kimonos to wear during your stay! And if you love them, you can purchase them!
Francesca arranged for another MH staff member to visit our suite with an array of handmade scrubs, body butters and aromatherapy oils to enjoy while we soaked in the tub and relaxed in the shower. This experience was BEYOND tranquil. Especially coming off a 30-hour journey from the USA to Seychelles!
Ok, I MUST get back to the private pool in this suite! One thing about me, I LOVE an in-suite pool! With the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal being one of my favorite suites with a pool + a great view, the Mango House for sure didn’t disappoint either!
The views of the bay from the pool and with Soley being right in our “backyard” if we needed more cocktails was EVERYTHING! This pool was the PERFECT way to spend a lazy afternoon and evening!
At this point I had fallen head over heels in L O V E with this suite and I was trying to figure out ways to destroy my passport so that I could stay here FOREVER (LOL)! I know I’ve given quite a few details on this suite, but can you believe that there’s MORE?!
THE FREEBIES
Again, Mango House treats all their guests absolutely AMAZING, but they are a step above the rest when it comes to the Diamond members! Here’s what I received during my stay for being a Diamond member:
☀️ Complimentary room upgrade (upgrades are granted on a space-available basis for the entire stay).
☀️ A welcome bottle of Rose + fresh snacks & a complimentary bottle of red wine during the turn down service!
☀️ Complimentary beach bags + beach hats!
☀️ A beautiful sarong + body butter during the turn down service!
Another thing the hotel staff did was leave the nicest handwritten notes for me during my stay! This was such a very thoughtful gesture which I appreciated so much!
MANGO HOUSE CUSTOMER SERVICE
“Oh no, Miss Williams! You’re only staying one night? Why such a short stay?”
This is the question I was asked by almost every staff member of Mango House that I came in contact with! And it made me quite sad because they were right! WHY ON EARTH WOULD I SPEND ONLY 1 DAY IN PARADISE?!
Mango House Seychelles will easily rise in rankings as the BEST hotel in Seychelles! I have stayed in some amazing properties all over the world, but it’s something about the customer service we experienced here that made us genuinely feel like family. The staff here went above & beyond to make our stay PERFECT! The beautiful smiles from the team members, their warm personalities and the attention to detail will always bring back pleasant memories for me from this place!
