We all know what a 'solocation' is, right?! No? It's simply a vacation that you take - SOLO! For me, my definition of self-care and a great solocation is walking into the room of a luxury hotel, changing into the plush bathrobe that's provided, and fixing myself a cocktail to enjoy my own company! THIS is how I love to spend my time at the BEAUTIFUL Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas!
I'm going to be completely transparent right now: I hate Las Vegas! I do! I've been visiting for almost 20 years (way too long, I know), and I'm completely over that place. It's overrated, eye-wateringly expensive, and just TOO DAMN MUCH! At least for me, it is!
The only time I'm visiting Vegas these days is to see a concert that I can't see anywhere else (like Silk Sonic's residency for example). So for the short time I spend in this city, I need a nice room with NO CASINO! This is where the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas comes in!
ABOUT WALDORF ASTORIA
LAS VEGAS
This 5-star hotel is located near the center of the Las Vegas strip right next to Aria & Vdara and just south of The Cosmopolitan. You'll find 392 guest rooms and suites in this 47-story luxury hotel! Walking into the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, the 1st thing noticeably missing is a casino! That's right, this hotel is one of the few hotels in Las Vegas with no casino (a selling point for me for sure)!
Nightly room rates vary depending on the day of the week and the time of year you visit. Rates can start at $300 & up a night for guest rooms and $900 & up for suites! And don't forget those pesky "resort fees". The fee here is an extra $45 per night. If you want to get around paying the resort fee, using your Hilton Honors points is a great way to do that! Hilton Honors points typically start at 80,000 & up per night.
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas will also collect a refundable fee of $170 per night for incidentals. So be sure to have that credit card READY! LOL! Valet parking is also available for $35 per night.
Once you enter this beautiful hotel, there will be a concierge desk in the lobby and you'll probably assume that's where you check-in. NOPE! You'll have to take the elevator up to the 23rd floor to the gorgeous Sky Lobby to check-in! After everything is settled with the concierge, it's time to explore what your room/suite has to offer!
TIP: If you're a Hilton Honors member, be sure to inquire about complimentary upgrades!
THE JUNIOR SUITE AT WALDORF ASTORIA LAS VEGAS
I can't lie, it took me a couple of tries to get to my suite (LOL)! The elevators are somewhat confusing (especially after a couple of cocktails)! But trust me, you'll figure it out!
I initially booked a standard guest room for my stay with my Hilton Honors points, but was upgraded to the Waldorf Junior Suite for being a Diamond member! Heeeeeey (I love free stuff)!
WALDORF JUNIOR SUITE
As soon as I stepped into this 17th-floor suite, I smiled! The suite is 646 sq. ft in size with floor-to-ceiling windows and striking views of the glittering Las Vegas strip! The best part about all of this for me is that I had this gorgeous room all to myself! Yaaaaaaas! Pop the champagne, please!
I instantly fell in love with all the space in this suite! The king-size bed looked super inviting and I couldn't wait to jump in it (LOL)! There is also a seating area with chairs, occasional tables, and a desk to work!
When I made my way to the bathroom, my instant reaction was, "THIS IS MASSIVE! All of this for just me"?! Yaaaaaaas! The bathroom features a walk-in shower, a separate deep soaking bathtub, and a double vanity! You'll also enjoy an adjoining walk-in wardrobe and valet closet.
But back to the bathtub! It's beautiful, it's deep, and it's FABULOUS! I couldn't wait to dim the lights in the room and draw up a nice bubble bath! The city lights shining through the window while relaxing in a nice bath was a top-tier relaxing experience for me!
HOW TO ENJOY YOUR STAY AT WALDORF ASTORIA LAS VEGAS

Are we feeling hungry yet?! Yes?! Well, the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas has 3 spots to eat & sip good!
☀️ SKYBAR: located on the 23rd floor, this is where you can grab a cocktail high above the Las Vegas strip! Light bites are served here as well. The empanadas are highly recommended!
☀️ Zen Kitchen: serving fresh & seasonal American cuisine, here is where you can grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
☀️ Tea Lounge: sip the finest teas from all over the world right here! And if you're looking for something a little boozier, you can find endless Mimosas here too!
If you don't feel like leaving your suite, room service is available too!
☀️ THE POOL
Listen. I LOVE THIS POOL, OK?! It's another one of my favorite things about this hotel! The views from here are simply AMAZING! This 8th-floor pool deck is the perfect relaxation spot when you need to escape from the hustle & bustle of Vegas! I enjoy spending all day here sipping refreshing Frosés, sunbathing, and then cooling off in the pool!
The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas offers 2 pools (1 of the pools is for adults only), 2 whirlpool baths, and a plunge pool! Poolside cabanas are also available to rent starting at $300 per day!

There is also a poolside cafe serving light meals and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages! I'm going to keep it real with you, the alcoholic beverages are definitely missing something - ALCOHOL! But that was probably a good thing for me! LOL!
If you want to hang out at this pool, but you're not a guest of the hotel, you can purchase a Resort Pass which is perfect for a daycation!
WALDORF ASTORIA LAS VEGAS HOUSE CAR
Need a chauffeur? The Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas offers its guests complimentary rides within a 2-mile radius in their house car which is a 2020 BMW 740i! Fancy, right?! Be sure to reserve your slot in advance with the hotel's concierge!
WALDORF ASTORIA LAS VEGAS SPA & SALON
If you're up for some splurging, the hotel of course offers a 5-star-rated spa and a salon onsite with an array of services! I personally recommend the cabana cool stone massage! Loved it!
As for the spa, you can take advantage of the facility before or after your appointment! The spa has saunas and jacuzzis throughout to further enjoy your visit! Be sure to check out the website to get more info and to book the services you need!
THINGS TO DO NEAR WALDORF ASTORIA LAS VEGAS
So you want to venture outside of the hotel for some things to do, huh? Here are a few things I like to do on my solocation at the W.A. Las Vegas:

☀️ Head over to ARIA hotel for dinner at Catch Las Vegas! The seafood is delicious, the cocktails are potent, and the ambiance is EVERYTHING!
☀️ Enjoy a show at Dolby Live! Park MGM hotel is within walking distance of the Waldorf Astoria. I was able to tiptoe over to see my favorite group, SILK SONIC while their residency is in Vegas!
