My Fabulous Solo Getaway at the Conrad Punta de Mita! | Hotel Review

As the end of Summer was nearing, I found myself getting antsy! I wanted to take off and go somewhere, anywhere for a little R&R, but I'm clueless as to where to go for a short solo getaway! Then it hit me: PUNTA MITA, MEXICO!

Girls just wanna' have FUN (and sun)!

Punta Mita is a stunning resort town located on the Pacific coast of Nayarit, Mexico. This remote corner of Mexico boasts some of the most gorgeous private villas and 5-star hotels (St. Regis, the W, and the Four Seasons just to name a few)! This part of Mexico was new to me so I hopped on the Hilton Honors app to see what hotels I could find! Once I found my digs, I packed my bags and jetted to Puerto Vallarta to make my way to the gorgeous Conrad Punta de Mita!

The closest airport to Punta Mita is located in Puerto Vallarta (airport code: PVR) and is 25 miles from the Conrad (about a 45-minute ride). Here are a few ways to get from PVR to the Conrad:

Puerto Vallarta International Airport

☀️ Taxi: Taxis will be readily available as soon as you walk out of the airport! They'll cost anywhere from $50-100 one-way. Be sure to negotiate!

☀️ Uber: Ubers are available from PVR airport, but they are not allowed to pick up at the airport. You'll have to walk offsite (which is about 5 minutes). Once you exit the airport, start walking to the left. You'll see a pedestrian bridge. At the end of the pedestrian bridge is where you'll catch your Uber. The price is about $30 one-way.

The pedestrian bridge at PVR airport.

Travel Tip: Make sure you have WiFi before you leave the airport. I scheduled my Uber while still in the airport and then walked over to catch it! I had NO service once I left the airport.

Another tip: Uber is NONEXISTENT once you get to Conrad. You will have to schedule taxis to get around and back to PVR airport.

☀️ Hotel pickup/drop-off: You can always take the headache out of scheduling taxis/Ubers by booking your ride with the hotel, but it'll be much more expensive! During the time of my stay, a one-way ride was $100! (Yikes! Too rich for my blood)!

After my 45-minute taxi ride from PVR to Punta Mita, I was excited to see what this hotel was all about (plus I was ready to get in bed! I'd had waaaaaay too much wine the night before and I was feeling like SH*T)! After I was checked in at the security gates of the Conrad, the magic began!

This 5-star rated resort is situated on Litibu beach in Riviera Nayarit and boasts 324 rooms & suites along with 3 sparkling swimming pools, 5 restaurants, 2 bars, a fitness center, a gorgeous full-service spa, and some of the most BREATHTAKING sunsets I have ever seen!

The Conrad Punta de Mita offers guestrooms with partial ocean views, beachfront rooms, and suites with your own plunge pool! Nightly rates for guest rooms start at about $500+ (USD) per night and $1,000+ per night for suites! If you're using your Hilton Honors points, rates start at around 95,000 points per night! But again, depending on when you visit, you can book a room as low as 88,000 points per night!

Welcome to Conrad Punta de Mita! cc: Conrad Punta de Mita IG

The vibe this hotel was giving to me was definitely that of a family vibe. But even as a solo traveler, I was still able to make my vacay a relaxing trip! There are an array of daily activities that the hotel offers! You can partake in beach volleyball, bocce ball, tennis, bike riding + more! I however didn't do any of these things because I was too busy downing frozen mojitos & margaritas at the beach bar and the adults-only pool! But more on that later!

Walking into the lobby of the Conrad Punta de Mita felt like HEAVEN, I swear! The open-air lobby with views of the ocean was instantly calming. I was greeted by the pleasant staff members with a coconut-flavored welcome drink and a refreshingly cool towel. Voila! "Vacation Mode" had been activated! It was time to get to the fun!

The Conrad offers partial ocean view or beachfront guest rooms with a single king-sized bed or two queen-sized beds! Suites that come with their own plunge pool are available as well! And if you're really looking to splurge, this hotel has a penthouse suite too!

I initially booked the partial ocean view room, but received a complimentary upgrade to a beachfront king room for being a Diamond member with Hilton Honors! (Heeeeeeeey! I love free upgrades)!

Let's get into the deets of the 'Beachfront Room with King Bed

- 646 sq. ft. including a furnished patio with stunning ocean views

- 1 king-sized bed with sofa sleeper (this room accommodates 4 people)

- Large room with sitting area & spacious bathroom

- Air conditioning, mini refrigerator, TV, complimentary WiFi + more!

Casa 3 is where more of the beachfront rooms are located. Just a short walk to the beach and pools!

When I walked into my room (which was located in Casa 3, room 333), my eyes immediately went to the spacious patio and the BEAUTIFUL views of the ocean! I couldn't wait to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the sunset! And I did just that. The sunsets were glorious! Honestly.

The room was absolutely lovely! I loved the bathroom (which was more than enough space for just me), the separate toilet room, and the rain shower! I was hoping for a bathtub, but this room didn't come with one. Also, the refrigerator in the room isn't stocked, so it was great to fill it up with fresh coconuts and bottled water!

Hello wine. Hello sunset.

Ok, y'all - here is what I did not enjoy about this room: the bed and the pillows. The bed to me was a little too firm and the pillows were just as firm. Listen, I can tolerate a few things here & there, but firm pillows I CAN NOT! (LOL)! My sleep wasn't the most comfortable, but it wasn't terrible either. My favorite thing about this room was the view! Every second I spent inside, I had the sliding door to the patio pushed ALL THE WAY OPEN to let the sunshine in! It was incredible!

I must take a moment to shout out to the housekeeping staff at the Conrad! They cleaned the room twice a day and kept everything very tidy! During the turndown service, they would leave a nice note from the hotel and a little gift which was a nice touch!

With this hotel being in such a remote location, a lot of guests choose not to venture off the property. And if that is the case for you, then you need to know how to enjoy this hotel to the fullest! Let's start with the restaurants!

Sidebar: Make sure to grab yourself a fresh coconut while enjoying the beach at Conrad Punta Mita!

(Click on the restaurant's name for more info)!

☀️ CODEX: Conrad Punta Mita's signature restaurant! Here you'll enjoy dishes inspired by ancestral Mexican recipes, an extensive cocktail list, and artisanal wines in a setting with sea views between the mangrove and the beach! There is also a daily Happy Hour from 6 P.M-8 P.M. This restaurant is open for dinner only.

☀️ MEZQUITE: How does dinner right on the beach sound? Sounds good, right?! Here you can enjoy American & Mexican classics like tacos, lobster, and seafood macaroni & cheese!

☀️ PALETA: Enjoy poolside bites at this family-friendly lunch spot serving pizza, salads, poke bowls, ceviche, burgers, and traditional tacos! This restaurant is open for lunch until late afternoon.

☀️ ARBOL: Here you'll find the most important meal of the day: Breakfast! And this is a breakfast most definitely worth waking up for every morning! You'll have a choice between ordering á la carte or the breakfast buffet. You can't go wrong with the buffet! I enjoyed amazing made-to-order omelets, fresh fruits, juices, matcha bowls, + much more! Did I mention that there is also a quesadilla station?! AND A MIMOSA STATION (there is an additional charge for the Mimosas of course)! I woke up EVERY morning extra ready for my complimentary breakfast (LOL)! That's right, this incredible breakfast is complimentary for Diamond & Gold Hilton Honors members!

☀️ TUKI (bar): Grab a cocktail in this stunning lobby bar!

☀️ MEZQUITE BAR (beach bar): Barefoot in the sand with a drink in my hand! YES PLEASE! Here you'll enjoy the cocktails of your choice right on the beach! Watching the sunset from this bar is a MUST!

☀️ AURA: Y'all! I probably spent 99% of my time at this adults-only pool bar sipping all the frozen Mojitos! You can order lite bites like ceviche, guacamole, quesadillas plus cocktails right from the swim-up bar or from one of the many lounge chairs surrounding the pool!

☀️ THE AGAVE STUDIO: Immerse yourself into the world of everything agave! Each experience is guided by an agave expert that'll assist you in pairing the most delicious tequilas & mezcals over a delectable dinner. This experience is a must! Reservations are required.

All of the restaurants/bars at the Conrad Punta de Mita are top-notch, to say the least. Prices are what you would expect for a 5-star resort. Cocktails are about $16 and lite bites are around $22 & up! Let me also add that at this resort a 10% service charge and 16% IVA Tax is added to each bill. NOTE: The Conrad Punta de Mita is not an all-inclusive resort.

This hotel has some of the most beautiful pools I've seen in a resort! They are truly breathtaking! There is the main pool, which is a beautifully designed infinity pool with amazing views of the ocean. There is a pool for the littles (children) which includes a cute play area and a waterslide (yes I got my grown a** on that slide LOL)! And then there is my absolute favorite: the adults-ONLY pool! AURA is a very serene pool with a swim-up bar and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxing! Cabanas are available to rent as well!

I probably spent 99% of my time hanging out at AURA and sipping all of the frozen Mojitos that I could handle! The only thing that was missing for me at this pool was some music. The hotel did have a little bit of music going, but you could barely hear it. Thankfully, I had my AirPods with me so I had my own party at the swim-up bar! Heeeeeeeeeey!

The beautiful beach at Conrad Punta de Mita stretches about 2 miles! If you want to take a day to relax and enjoy your time at the beach, the hotel offers lounge chairs where you can also order food & beverages. The good news is that this beach is very swimmable, and the water feels great too! But be cognizant of the daily warning signs regarding the ocean's currents!

How beautiful is the beach at Conrad Punta de Mita?!

So. There is one crazy thing about this beach. Probably something you couldn't even imagine. It blew my mind when I was told about it by one of the hosts at Mezquite!

Crocodiles! Yep! A lagoon not too far from the Conrad's section of the beach is home to a family of crocodiles! Curiosity got the best of me, so I walked down to the lagoon to see what I could see and there was security guarding the lagoon! Luckily I didn't run into any crocs, but just know that they are there!

This spa is everything you'd expect from a luxury resort! There's a well-appointed locker room, plush robes, several plunge pools, and thatched canopies that'll set the mood for pure relaxation. I decided to try the 60-minute 'Melting Relaxing' massage that did just that! I melted and went right to sleep (LOL)! This was one of my best massage experiences!

You can also partake in an authentic Temazcal ceremony here too! This is actually the 1st of its kind for the Hilton brand! Be sure to check with the hotel for all of your questions regarding spa services and all ceremonies. You can also book spa appointments here as well: Conrad Punta de Mita Spa Log-in!

The Conrad also offers other activities like zip lining, horseback riding, ATVing, golf, day trips to Sayulita & more! The concierge is readily available to assist you with your adventures!

If you find yourself feeling adventurous and want to venture off the property, here are a couple of cool things to check out:

☀️ Visit Marieta Islands (Islas Marietas): The Marieta Islands are a group of small uninhabited islands a few miles off the coast of Nayarit, Mexico! You can check out these beautiful islands by taking a boat tour! Check out Viator or Punta Mita Experience for more info!

☀️ Day trip to Sayulita: Sayulita is a small, colorful surf town about 20-30 minutes by taxi from the Conrad. It's a hidden gem with picturesque beaches, charming restaurants, and great (also cheap) shopping!

My time spent at Conrad Punta de Mita was absolutely amazing! The staff here made me feel like royalty from the time I checked in until it was time for me to head back home! Everyone is so pleasant & helpful!

I can't wait to visit again! The sunsets here are some of the prettiest I've ever experienced and the pools + the frozen Mojitos are calling my name as I type this (LOL)!

I hope you're throwing some swimwear and sunscreen in a carry-on and heading to the airport! Let's not keep Punta Mita waiting! Have fun in Mexico, jetsetter!
